What’s In A Name

While trying to deal with my stress and health and basically being the person I am (which is one that hides from the world and doesn’t like to leave my house) – I have thrown myself into the renovations that still need doing in this big old barn.

Our house guest (also known as Sam) has been taking care of me and helping out as well.

We are in the process of sanding the dining room floor and while doing so – Sam won’t let me run the machine so it’s all him – we came across something in the hardwood.

We’re not sure what it is and believe it to be a name so I’m going to post some pics of it here and see if any one of you can figure out what it says.

Please note there are 2 different spots which to me look like two different names.

So here we go.P1210005

P1210006 P1210006P1210004And the other ‘name’.

Any and all ideas are gratefully welcomed.

No Maggie - it's not a trick question - these letters showed up once we started sanding.

Even if anyone could pick out letters and note them would help.

Leslie - that's interesting.

I know I should go to town hall and see who owned this place before me.

That's interestong. The first looks like 'work' with an exclamation mark but very difficult to decipher.

I hope you can find out some background.

It is an interesting mystery.

_arry

Larry? Garry? Parry? Barry? Harry?

I thought the first ones look like _arky (marky, larky, parky?) and the second one like the letters BN?

I re-wrote what I could see when I clicked big.
1. WPRY, MPRY, AIPRY, ADPRY, Best guess AUDRY

2. Bri, Dri

Looks like what you get when you use a magnifying glass in the sun to scorch wood.

I hope you look up the records and get more clues.

That is so awesome aims! I would love to have found that. My guess is it is the name of the kid that once had that room. After reading the others comments I could see both April and Harry. Though I am leaning toward Harry since I could see Harry Potter burning his name in the floor with his wand! :-)
