Where Does The Time Go?

Here it is - July.

What happened to June - what happened to our 'spring'?

Our temperatures are hovering in the low 60's most of the time and this is what we are to be calling our 'summer'.

In other years I have posted pics of 'The Man' putting up our above-ground pool on Canada Day Long Weekend/July 4th Weekend. This year? I'm still wearing my fleece housecoat and warm slippers when I get up in the morning. The summer of early morning swims is something that is not likely to happen this year.

They had overnight frost out where my brother lives - a mere 40 minute drive from The Barn.

Frost? In July? Fortunately I had returned from a weekend of helping out with the rafting or I would have had very cold feet in my little trailer, and the heater would have been going full blast all night. And of course - there's nothing like the freezing seat of a portapotty about 3am. Wakes you right up!

Canadians are known for their complaining about the weather. But really - do you blame us?

At present there are tornadoes and earthquakes and flooding happening a few provinces over from us. Our TransCanada highway got washed away in one of the floods - bringing traffic to a standstill for a week. That's the major highway that runs from one side of Canada to the other. And it got washed out! How does something like that happen?!

Still - One thing that is enduring, is our Queen.

You are having a cool summer, aren't you?
It has been fairly warm here and we are being warned about drought as we haven't had hardly any rain.
The summer is galloping by.

I didn't know that Canadians had a reputation for complaining about the weather. I thought that was only we British. One thing we have in common then!

Tornadoes and earthquakes quite close by sounds awful and all that rain and roads collapsing. What IS going on?

I hope the weather warms up for you Aims. This is the first proper Summer the UK has had in ages so I am grateful. The world seems to be getting a lot more floods, quakes and natural disasters. I wonder if Mother Nature is trying to tell us something.

I'm with Addy and I'm going to ask all my friends in the UK to try and send me some of that heat. We could use a decent summer once in a blue moon.

I remember when...........

We've had nothing but heat here in the Netherlands and we desperately need some rain. Things are very dry here. I could go for a cooler day. It would be nice to wear some warmer clothes. Do you want me to send you some of our warm weather?

I'm the opposite aims!!! I'd love temps in the 60's as my body simply does not tolerate heat and humidity at all. We too have been talking about all the weird weather everyone has been having lately...with temps approaching TRIPLE digits...I'll be spending time inside in my A/C!!

I think Alcoholic Daze's attempt to send you some nice weather has worked because it's been raining here today! LOL

Good to catch up with you aims. Richard is waiting to hear news of a bone scan so not in the mood for blogging at the moment. Weather seems to be very strange world-wide doesn't it? Lovely here at the moment, so enjoying the grandchildren while we can. Take care.

Oh I know what you mean about this weather. Even here on the West Coast the weather is just strange. Has basically been the same temp (about 15C) for 6 months! People are saying the weather during the Olympics was better!LOL

It has been hot, hot, hot here in the Arkansas/Texas/Louisiana area. But we finally got some much needed rain yesterday. My husband was a very happy man.

Do wish we could even out weather through the internet!! Perhaps Al Gore could get working on that. Heat emergency here and smog alert. Stay warm and cozy there, my dear:>)

I do believe the one constant we can all rely on is we can ONE AND ALL complain about our weather!

Can't believe how cold you are!

.... and here in Australia, we're in mid-winter.

Hi there, Aims - thank you for the message you sent through Daryl. It was great to catch up with her in NYC.

Next time, I must make it a longer trip to catch up with ALL my blog friends in Canada as well!

I've never forgotten the photo you sent me for The Sunday Roast - in that amazing wig, with the cover of Vegemite Vindaloo in front of your face!

Hey Aimee, So sorry you're under the weather, both figuratively and literally. Things are strange at my house too. Must be the planets aligning.

Well I can't blame you one bit for complaining about the weather! I thought ours was bad enough. WE had a lovely spring but have had loads of rain since. At least it's warm. Brrr, you must be cold. I hope you get some warm therms coming from that ole sun soon aims. xxx

I haven't been over to your blog for a long time (or anyone else's). Hope your health is getting better and the summer has warmed up! It took a long time for summer to hit here in Montana, too.

Thanks for your visit to my blog a few weeks back. It was nice to hear from you. Take care of yourself. xo
