When I was growing up my parents told me that they beat me because they loved me. This is a true story about a life of abuse – both physical and mental – and my long journey to find ‘true love’.

But Safer To Stay At Home
If you go out in the woods today,
You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely out in the woods today,
But safer to stay at home.

The Little Teddy Bears Are Having a Lovely Time Today.
Chorus:
Picnic time for teddy bears,
The little teddy bears are having a lovely time today.
Watch them, catch them unawares,
And see them picnic on their holiday.
See them gaily dance about.
They love to play and shout.
And never have any cares.
At six o'clock their mommies and daddies
Will take them home to bed
Because they're tired little teddy bears

You're In For A Big Surprise
If you go out in the woods today
You're in for a big surprise...
Here's one that didn't make the group hug...

Me, Myself, and I
I was myself,
Myself was me.
We sat on a shelf
Myself, I and me.
We sat on a shelf,
So making three
Me, I and Myself,
Myself, I and Me.
Once Myself
Fell off the shelf.
Leaving only
I and me.
From up above
I yelled to me
We cannot be two
We must be three.
So up I arose
From where I lie
Now we are three
Me, Myself and I.
Myself was me.
We sat on a shelf
Myself, I and me.
We sat on a shelf,
So making three
Me, I and Myself,
Myself, I and Me.
Once Myself
Fell off the shelf.
Leaving only
I and me.
From up above
I yelled to me
We cannot be two
We must be three.
So up I arose
From where I lie
Now we are three
Me, Myself and I.

Because Of You
Because of you I heard his voice
So softly in the gathering dark
It tore apart and swept away
The chains that had trapped my beating heart.
Because of you he held my hand
And searched my eyes for what lay within
For the soul that had hidden for so many years
Fearing the pain of uncaring whims.
Because of you my mind had soared
And encompassed a world as yet untried
With bonds released and eyes anew
I opened myself and cried.
Because of you the music
Saturated my senses
Bringing peace and happiness
Knocking down my feeble defenses.
Because of you I heard his voice
Gently questing
“Will you marry me?
Because of you I found life again
And threw my arms wide
And clasped it tight
Because of you
I said “I do”
And with head held high
Walked into love.
So softly in the gathering dark
It tore apart and swept away
The chains that had trapped my beating heart.
Because of you he held my hand
And searched my eyes for what lay within
For the soul that had hidden for so many years
Fearing the pain of uncaring whims.
Because of you my mind had soared
And encompassed a world as yet untried
With bonds released and eyes anew
I opened myself and cried.
Because of you the music
Saturated my senses
Bringing peace and happiness
Knocking down my feeble defenses.
Because of you I heard his voice
Gently questing
“Will you marry me?
Because of you I found life again
And threw my arms wide
And clasped it tight
Because of you
I said “I do”
And with head held high
Walked into love.
