When I was growing up my parents told me that they beat me because they loved me. This is a true story about a life of abuse – both physical and mental – and my long journey to find ‘true love’.
No words can describe your loss, my dear friend. She was your child, confidante, and ever so much more. We are all grieving with you. Know that we understand the closeness and the deep sadness that accompanies such a loss. All our love. P and Squiggy
Really, really sorry Aims. I am staying at my daughter's for the week & am borrowing her computer. I am managing to get to the blog but not to email. Will catch up when I get back. In the meantime please know that I will have you in my thoughts.
Aims... I am speechless and so sorry. I had hoped this was just the beginning and you could enjoy a few more years with her yet. I know what it is like to lose a much-loved pet and nothing can replace her, just like it can't replace the loss of a human family member. All I can wish is that, for Dolly, she is no longer suffering. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
I am so sorry for your loss! I know the heartache. Two years ago we lost our 'original' Border Collie at 14 yrs, last year her "daughter", and fear the "grandson" will not see his way into another Spring...they are our family and have been embedded in our hearts. We still grieve. My heart goes out to you.
