I’m sorry I’ve been such a bad on and off blogger this past year but I have been dealing with health issues that have overtaken my life and kept me from being the writer I want to be.
Even yet I am going to lose a good deal of time when I have both of my wrists operated on this coming summer.
Maybe I need a secretary. Any volunteers?
Enough of the excuses and back to the title of this post.
What I mean about it being that time of year again is not any ritual apology about being lazy – but it’s that time of year again for me to help my brother over at Otter Rafting Adventures.
I have been helping him out for over 20 years now and although it’s a ton of work – it’s also a whole lot of fun.
Here’s a clip of my brother Dave (The Otter) and Sam (our winter house guest) and friends.
This is NOT whitewater. It’s just the need of a pair of river gids (guides) to get out on the water – any water - (but the river we run of course) after a VERY LONG winter.
That need is in our blood. There’s simply no getting away from it (unless you’re me with a huge stack of health problems keeping you on the shore).

That was dead scary because the boat was so flimsy and I thought the dogs would be falling out into the water.
I would be hopeless at that because I really don't like being on anything that isn't Titanic sized!

Nuts in May
Aims I loved the video. Unlike Maggie I love being on the water on anything.....the dogs were very good sitting in their places weren't they...Be well soon my friend.......:-) Hugs
Sure hope you can enjoy helping your brother once again. Sucks you have to have surgery on BOTH your wrists. POOH!
Loved the video Aims!!! I wouldn't do very well in a little boat either...I'm surprised that the dogs were so calm and STILL...like they really, really were enjoying it! I do have life jackets for my girlz when we go on our boat...which isn't that often, but hoping to go out a bit more this year. It's 20' long and open bow and I always sit in the front where I can get lots of AIR!! I'm so sorry to hear that you have to have both wrists worked on...that is just awful. Do take care and keep us posted on how you are doing...
Ummmmm Maggie?
Didn't you hear about the Titanic?
hehehehehehe
Have fun, and get well as soon as you can.
Looks like a lot of fun. At least the dogs appreciated it. My lot just go to sleep in the bottom of a rowing boat. LOL
Are you having carpal tunnel surgery? My husband just had both his done, at the same time, and it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. And so much improvement, he wishes he had done it a long time ago. Here's hoping everything goes well with you.
Two operations on your wrists - that sounds painful. Will you still be able to help your brother?
Are your wrists up to helping your brother? I hope you feel better soon.
The dogs were very well behaved. They looked like they had done this before, but were still full of curiosity. It seemed like a nice way to travel. I would definitely enjoy it.
Great video, but I did notice the ginger lad yawn towards the end! Good to hear Dave's voice.
Now, just think what you'll be able to do once your wrists have healed ...
sending care and many huggles,

Your life sounds so physically exciting. I've never been very brave so no white-watering for me!

I had forgotten that you do this, Aims. I've gone rafting in white water a couple or three times and enjoyed the adventure.
Loved the video with the dogs. They really seemed to be enjoying the whole experience . I'm not too keen on water, so it wouldn't suit me! Hope you have a good time with your brother.
I did some sailing as a teenager but no white water rafting. Have a great summer Aims, come back safe and in better health. X
*hugs* for your pain and your forthcoming op.
The canooing dogs are fantastic!
